For the past two decades, I have dedicated my life to serving in ministry. After a prodigal son season, at the age of 18, God used the kindness of a neighbor to lead me to repentance and follow Christ. From that day forward, I have never looked back. Following Christ has radically blessed my life and my family. Now, nearly 24 years later, I have witnessed countless times the power of God working through everyday people to have an extraordinary impact on the world around them.
My wife and I are two-time Dallas Baptist University graduates, having obtained both our undergraduate and master's degrees from DBU. I have served in multiple capacities, both in vocational and bi-vocational ministry. I have served the local church as a youth minister, young adult minister, associate pastor, and senior pastor. I also have experience serving in Christian higher education, teaching worldview and leadership courses, and serving as an Assistant Vice President. My wife has experience serving in the children's ministry, creative teams, and as my ministry co-leader. She is also a mom and educator who has taught in public, private, and home schools. Throughout each chapter of our life, we have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of Christ in countless lives and communities.
Over the past several years, God has placed a burden on our hearts to plant a church in North Texas, specifically in the Fort Worth region. After an extended season of prayer and fasting, God spoke to us and told us that now is the time to join Him in what He is doing in Fort Worth and the surrounding region. God is doing a new thing in our area, and our world needs more strong churches, not fewer. It is with that conviction and the Holy Spirit's leading that God has called us to join Him in what He is doing and will do through RiverStone Church.

Our Values
-
We uphold the Bible as the authoritative Word of God and guide for our lives.
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." – 2 Timothy 3:16-17
-
We prioritize wholehearted worship as a response to God's love and grace.
"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." – Mark 12:30
-
We foster genuine relationships and a sense of belonging within our church family.
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another." – Hebrews 10:24-25
-
We equip and empower individuals to lead by serving others, following the example of Jesus.
"Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." – Matthew 20:26-28
-
We commit to growing in our faith and helping others to become devoted followers of Christ.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." – Matthew 28:19-20
-
We actively engage in acts of love and service to meet the needs of our community and beyond.
"And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." – Hebrews 13:16
-
We rely on prayer as a vital aspect of our relationship with God and our ministry efforts.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." – Philippians 4:6
The why behind the name
The name "RiverStone" holds profound significance. The "River" symbolizes the life-giving flow of God's grace, love, and presence, much like the rivers of living water Jesus speaks of in John 7:38: “Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” This reflects our desire for the church to be a channel of God’s love, bringing transformation and renewal to all people.
The "Stone" represents strength, stability, and the solid foundation of faith on which we stand. As Jesus says in Matthew 7:24, “Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” This echoes our commitment to being a steadfast and enduring presence, grounded in the unchanging truth of God's Word.
Together, "RiverStone" embodies a church that is both dynamic and enduring, rooted in the eternal foundation of Christ while being constantly moved and shaped by the Holy Spirit to have a far-reaching impact, touching lives near and far for the glory of God.
